1654 Will of Mary Launchburry 1585-1654

In the Name of God Amen
I Mary Lainchberry of Chadlington in the County of Oxon widow doe make and ordayne this my last will and Testament this sixteenth day of July one thousand six hundred fiftie fower in manner & forme as followeth ffirst I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmighty god who gave it not doubtinge but believeing that throughe the merritts of Jesus Christ my alone saviour to be made partaken of life everlastinge and such worldly goods as god hath bestowed one mee as followeth ffirst I give unto Alice Baylies the sume of tenn shillings and I give unto her foure children the sume of tenn shillings a peece, if either of them fortune to dye it shall remayne unto them Also I give my daughter Alce my best wastcoate? and my best pettycoate and my shorte Coate and one smocke one Crestclate?? alsoe I give my daughter Anne Hanckes? my best gowne my greate Coffer and one smocke and ye twenty shillings that I lent unto Joseph Hanckes her husband I give unto their Children equally to be divided betweene them Alsoe I give unto my sonne William Lainchberry the bond of five pounds that hee oweth mee payinge out of the aforsaid bond the sume of twenty shillings unto my Ex?or hereafter to be named Alsoe I give unto John Lainchberry my grandchild the Garner? and one bedsteed & one tablebord & frame and one Cisterne after the death of his ffather alsoe I give unto Esay_Lainchberry my grandchild one bedsteed one cupboard & the Iron barre? after his ffathers death and I give him one Ewe sheep p?sent and all ye rest of ye things yt bee at my sonne Esay Lainchberrys I give him excep tinge my great pott if either John Lainchberry or Esay_Lainchberry my grandchil dren fortune to dye afore they come to ye age of one & twenty it shall remaine unto the other of them Alsoe I give unto Mary_Lainchberry my grandchild my great kettle when she comes to ye age of sixteene Alsoe I give unto Mary Harrys my Grandchild one Flockbeed? & one bolster two pillowes two paire of sheets & two blanketts one Cov?led? w?th the bedsteed & one brazen Chaffing dish one kettle one little coffer & forty shillings of money Also I give unto my grandchild John Harris the sume of twenty shillings & one little bottle Also I give unto Robert Harrys my grandchild ye sume of twenty shillings & the great brasse pott of myne that is at my sonne Esay Laynchberryes Alsoe I give unto Alice Harrys my grandchild the sume of Twenty shillings Also I give unto Anne Norman & Eliz: Norman one Ewe sheepe a peece Alsoe I give all the rest of my weareing apparrell not before bequeathed I give unto my daught? ffrancis Harris & my cowe and my breweing barrell Alsoe I give unto my sonne Esay Lainchberry the sume of Two shillings All the rest of my goods lands and chattles not before bequeathed I doe give & bequeath unto my sonne in law Humfrey Harrys whome I doe make and ordaine to bee my Whole & sole Executor of this my will and Testament soe? desiring the Lord to bee mercyfull unto my soule I rest Mary Lainchberry her m?ke Witnes[ses?] John Smithe John Norman his marke
