My Alexander emigrated to Australia in 1855. He was listed in the 1841 census (not sure about the 1851 census). Alexander was born in 1834 in Eyemouth. His father James was a stonemason and his mother was Agnes Bookless. James is proving rather difficult to find information on though.
Ellen Mary emigrated to Australia from Ireland in 1856. I can't find anything on her at all.

Died: 1887 in Ballan, Victoria.
Age: 46 years.
Father: Malachi SHEEHAN.
Mother: Margaret MAHONEY.
Ref: Registry of Deaths, Victoria. Reg #149.
Alexander and Ellen had fourteen children in the Ballan/Ballarat area between 1859 and 1884. I have not followed this family line through the records but happy to try and fill in any missing details you may have on the Australian side of things.

I am keen to explore their family stories before they arrived in Australia. However, as I wrote earlier, I am finding lots of dead ends. I am very appreciative of your research and hope we can continue to communicate with discoveries.
