Have you got more details, dates in particular, The Whites interact with my family by marriage twice in the C19th century. This family lived in the villages of Upton and Hammerton in Huntingdonshire-now Cambridge- but Peterborough is the nearest big town. I have found both the Henson and White surnames in the same area. My son is working on this line and has got to 1921 so far. I have photographs of White gravestones from Upton. We have not found a Charles yet.

Thank you for contacting me, I don't know if your Whites are the same line, but Charles White was born 1880 in one of three places - Sutton St Emunds, Gedney or Inkerson Fen different on 3 census. He was the son of Thomas Inkley White and Mary Ann Wright who was born in 1839 at Baston Lincs which is just up the road from Peterborough. Thomas's father was Inkley White born around 1804 at Northorpe near Baston.It is here that I've hit a brick wall, I can't find the baptism for Inkley anywhere. He married Mary Kew in Stanground in 1834. It is the 'Inkley' name that fascinates me, a White must have married a Inkley at some point. One of my uncles was named Charles Inkley White, born 1906 in Crowland, there must be some connection. Hope to hear from you soon

I cannot tie the two families together, your family seem to be on the other side of town. My line seem to have come up from Kent in the 18th Century.

Inkley is a lovely name and rare. It must be a local place name but smaller than a hamlet. Does not show up in the Gazetteers.

I have time on my hands recovering from a leg operation so I will have a look around the net for you.

I have found Inkley White christened Deeping Market in 1756 could be father to your Inkley White but not him.

Also John Thomas Inkley White 1911 Cencus Bunkers Hill Cambs. aged 21

I also have found Inkley White christened 1756, he died August 1782, burial at Langtoft, He married an Alice Speed in May 1781 but didn't appear to have had any family in that short time. If this is correct that is not the connection. The only other answer to this that maybe one of Inkley's siblings may be later Inkleys parent as there is a 50 year age gap between them both. I'm sorry our Whites are not related, you would think it is a common name but finding someone with connections is proving to be very difficult. My son David has taken this on because he is building a tree of Castles, Whites and Mitchells that were together in Upton Hunts circ 1700 to 1860 when the Mitchell-Castles went to USA and Canada. he is pushing back to c 1600. So far I think he has found 3 marriages between White and Castle over a 100 year period or so. He hopes he can find a link. I was wrong about Kent being a root place. One branch went from Huntingtonshire to Kent then back again.
