Thanks for the help on this, Noggin. I had thought that he relocated up to Virginia since my mum had said that her father lived there for a short time. I don't think she met him more than once or twice. So we have---My mom and Marvin Brantley, My mom's dad, William Earl and Frances Jannette Bellamy (this was a short marriage from what I understand and, yes, Betty was his 2nd marriage), Percy? Perry? (don't know which of these is correct) Here it's Percy In SC it's Perry. Odd that. And Daisy begat William Earl. The father of Perry-Percy is William. It should be fairly easy to trace back, I hope from William. I'm trying to see if they do indeed go back to Scotland as I suspect. I really appreciate the help. I knew right up the Percy but got stuck there. I was thinking the last name had been changed from Ellison to Allison and he had come from Virginia as there is a typographical error on my birth certificate on my mum's name,calling her by the last name "Allison." My Brantley side is going to be impossible.
