John Cummiskey was born about 1816 in Currycreaghan, Tagsheenod, Ballymahon, Longford, Ireland, his father, Patrick Cummasky, was 51 and his mother, Honora nee Killian, was 36. He married Judityh Reilly B. 1817 on May 6, 1849, at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Carrickedmond, Abbeyschrule, Longford, Ireland. They had seven children in 12 years. He died in Longford, Ireland.
