Rev William Charles Fearon was my GREAT GREAT Grandfather. He married Eliza Tucker Forge, and he was Vicar of Hunstanton 1849-61, when they came to New Zealand. Their son Charles Devey got married in New Zealand to a lady Alice. She died Oct 21st, yr unknown in Nelson. I'm wondering if anyone would be able to fill in the blanks with regard to her, as I haven't been able to find out anything in Nelson, where I now live, or Christchurch, before the quakes.
I'm also trying to find out if there is any connections between William Charles, and a Rev Joseph Franis Fearon, married to Jane Clutton. He was Vicar at Cuckfield, England, 1801 - 1817? I haven't been able to find out anything from any Family Trees on Ancestry, the same with an Isaac Fearon 1779-1818, married Elizabeth Baty 1779-1837. Their 4th son, Captain Edward born 13 Oct 1813, married Eliabeth Ward, came to Motueka, Tasman District, with his brother Thomas. They arrived in n.Z. 1842.
Any connecting information someone can give me, would be really gratefully received. I'm willing to fill in any blanks that anyone might have regarding some of the William's family if I'm able to. William's son Roger Barnes was my Great Grandad, and one of his daughter's, Ruby was my Mum's Mother.
Sorry cannot help with info in New Zealand but found the follow so posted it in case you did not have it

Thank you so much, pity about not having N.Z. records, but these will be a big help.
Will have fun sorting them out.
Cheers, Shirley
H Shirley - I'm currently researching Captain Edward Fearon, son of Isaac Fearon and Elizabeth nee Baty, who arrived in Nelson, NZ late September 1843 on the ship "Thomas Sparks" with his wife Elizabeth nee Ward and baby daughter born at sea, Elizabeth Ludwig Fearon. Historical accounts say he bought land in Motueka near Nelson jointly with his brother T. R. Fearon, but to date I haven't found any mention of this brother on a "Thomas Sparks" passenger list, voter lists for Motueka or any contemporary Nelson newspaper articles.
You mention this brother as Thomas - do you have any information about him which confirms his existence - record of birth etc? He seems to be a real mystery!.
Many thanks.
Have solved the mystery of the elusive brother Thomas - he was in fact Captain Fearon's brother-in-law, Thomas Ward, who travelled out to NZ on the "Thomas Sparks" with Captain Fearon and his wife Elizabeth (nee Ward). Somewhere along the way he's been described as a brother instead, causing confusion for future researchers :)
As far as I can tell your Reverend William Charles Fearon is not related. Captain Fearon's parents Isaac Fearon and Elizabeth (formerly Baty nee Hodgson) were both natives of Cumberland in northern England, around the Carlisle area. Isaac's parents were Quakers.
My feeling is that William Charles and his family never came to Nelson at all and the article below appears to confirm this. It seems the William Fearons arrived in NZ at Lyttleton and then settled in Christchurch to live.

Hi Selene. Thank you so much for your replies to me request. Yes, it's been a long time replying, I have only just come back on again as I have been busy on other sites, have moved, and been to the States twice.
William Fearon didn't come to Nelson, the family arrived in Christchurch, and a lot are buried there. A DNA result from a known relative said he found the missing link, but when I tried to find it via his instructions, couldn't connect the dots. All these yrs later, am still looking, but don't think I'll find anything, although 1 of William's sons traveled up to Nelson a lot, married someone from here, and died here. Going to keep looking, but thank you for the info you have given me.
