My great grandmother was Lillian Maude Cowlishaw, Bristol, England. Her sister Laura Grace Helena Cowlishaw/Mugridge emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1900's. I am looking for relatives of her. I am from Canada.

Hi, Sorry, I do not have Lillian Maude Cowlishaw or Laura Grace Helena Cowlishaw/Mugridge in any of my research to date.

HI, A LITTLE MORE INFO FOR YOU

Laura Grace Helena Cowlishaw married Charles Mugridge in New Zealand and produced two children - Charles Wallace George Mugridge and Shirley Mugridge. CWG Mugridge married Eda May Polsen and they had two children: Sharman (1958) and Hilary (1961). I (Paul) married Hilary and we have three children; Laura (1987), Peter (1989) and Georgia (1991.) We are related to you.
There are Cowlishaws in Canada in Ontario. Laura Cowlishaw had a brother, Walter who married ? and they had two children; Ellen Cowlishaw marries Johnny Morneaux and Lawrence Cowlishaw who married a lady called Joan. Each of these Cowlishaws had children and Ellen and Lawrence are grandparents now. Both of the older couples have visited us here in NZ 25 - 20 years ago. Some branches of Laura Cowlishaws decendants have visited Canada.

I can pass along a contact for you if you would like to pursue this further.

Hi I am an ex Coleshaw (the name used to be Collishaw and Cowlishaw further back in the family tree) it is worth looking into this spelling of the name also. There are several in the Lincolnshire area and I know that they have extensively researched the family tree and may be willing to supply you with where they have got. I know that the family have spread into several countries across the world so it is possible that there may be a link.
