CUNNINGHAM, SMITH, RIDLEY, WORKMAN

Article by South

It is several years since the passing of my parents, Anita and Bruce Cunningham of South Otago ,New Zealand.
Anita started research many moons ago with the four main families of our ancestors. Firstly on the Paternal side, the Cunningham ex Ireland and Scotland. Secondly the Smiths ex Australia. Thirdly , On the Maternal side, the Ridleys and finally the Workmans.
When my mother started her prize possesion was a little Typewriter that clattered away day and night. There would be lengthy delays between letters and replys with many disappointments . It is just of late I have picked up her notes and I hope to fill in the gaps she struggled with.

I have Cunningham and Workman in m line.... but they are from Eastern Ohio... Belmont County. I do know that these lines are Irish/Scottish. Are any of them in your line?

Hi John and Anne , Thank you for you comments . At present it doesn't appear that our lines meet but never say never. What are the odds that that all these families have joined half a world away and apparently 200 years apart. In all likelyhood your two families are closer than ours. Good hunting and I wish you all a happy new year
Regards Dave
