Francis Symon Bartley is my great great grandfather. My father was George Bartley, his father Leon Harry (or Harry) Bartley, his father William Bartley, son of Francis.

I am so excited to learn that Ohio historical marker 20-32 names my great great grandfather as active in the Underground Railroad in Ohio in the 1850's. (I marched in Montgomery with Martin Luther King in 1965 and now I know that commitment was in my heritage.)

Francis had two marriages, Jane King (sister of Rev. William King, who was prominent in the Underground Railroad). Second marriage was to Esther McNamee (my ancestor).

I am seeking a picture of Francis Symon Bartley, and any more information about him. I am going to Ireland in October and would love any leads on where in Ireland he was from or anything else that is known. Suggestions on who I might contact in Ireland would also be appreciated.
