Trying to work out Stanistreet Irish Puzzle

Journal by ajoaus54

Have done some research into my mother's family: Stanistreet.

In context of history of railways in the state of Victoria, Australia this family has made a contribution on many fronts, some employees, clerks, station masters, railway commissioner, secretary of powerful unions both in Victoria and interstate. The family has also made a contribution to medicine and architecture both in Victoria and interstate.

For example my great great grandfather was John Stanistreet who was the station master at Glenrowan in 1880. He and his family were held captive by the Kelly gang. Whereas in the field of medicine a wing at the Bendigo Base Hospital is called Stanistreet House.

John Stanistreet married Emily Mansergh - a family with strong connections to Tipp/Cork area of Ireland. Indeed, there is a Mansergh House still occupied by the family. John Stanistreet parents also came from the area but then trying to find out which Stanistreet falls into the tree hierarchy becomes a little confused.. not helped by lack of Irish records..

The above is just an intro to get this journal started.
