Johnny te Whata is/was my uncle. He was the eldest of his siblings, they being Johnnie, Ngairie, Walter, Piri, Eric and David. He was married to Aunty Joyce and they have three children, Debbie, Tania and Karl. I was very young when he passed but still have the teddy he gave me when I was born. I spent several holidays with Aunt Joyce in Whitianga, a truly beautiful soul. I'm so interested to hear from you Bruce. Hope you are able to share some more insight into this far flung family of ours,
Regards,
Lesley

i was wondering if any of the whanau out has anymore information on my great grandfather and grandmother. all i know so far is that my great grandfather (bill/wiremu te whata) was born roughly between 1898-1900. whom married my great grandmother mereana te whata who was born 21st october, 1909.
they had a small farm house on kokohuia road, omapere, opononi, from where they both raised many kids, not of their own as i was told my great grandmother was unable to conceive?
im 23 years old now and i have always wanted to know more about the two great people who cared and raised my dad and his siblings. so if anyone out there has any information please contact me on my email- tangata_hagger@hotmail.com
