Joseph Ford Tynes was born on Dec 15, 1902 in Nacogdoches, Texas, USA. His parents were Calvin D Tynes and Sophronia Annie Walker. He married Ruby Wakefield about 1922.

Joseph Ford Tynes Sr., 81, of 1511 Cleveland Ave., a Waco fireman for 32 years, died Saturday at a hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 pm. Wednesday at Wilkerson- Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev J.A. Hailey officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery.
Mr. Tynes was born Dec. 15, I902, in Swift, Tx and moved to Waco, Tx in1905. He worked for Waco newspaper for several years and then worked as a messenger boy from 1918 to 1919. He worked for the Price-Booker Manufacturing Co, from 1919 to 1928.
In 1923, Mr. Tynes was married to Ruby Wakefield. Mrs. Tynes died In 1983.
Mr. Tynes worked as a fireman for the Waco Fire Department from 1928 to 1960 and later was grounds foreman for Baylor University from 1961 to 1964.
He also worked for Royal Pharmacy for several years and was a member of Edgefield Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven daughters; Della May Geltmeier of Fort Worth. Jeanette Doran of Sonora. Imogene Haney of Bellmead, Ruby Fay Newman of Lorena, Gloria Jean Harris of Houston, Mary Loyce Schrader of Salem, Mo. and Margie Ann Tynes of Robinson; three sons, Jospeh Ford Tynes, Jr and Wilbur Lee Tynes, both of Waco. and John Garner Tynes of Mesquite; 28 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
