On 24th January 1865 James Andrew married Mary Jane Chapman in Hobart, Tasmania. According to the marriage certificate he was 20 years old. I've learned quite a lot about Mary Jane Chapman's family, but I've not been able to find any information about James Andrew before this date. I don't know whether he was born in Tasmania or whether he was born elsewhere. He died in Sandy Bay in 1927 and the official statement of property drawn up says his full name was James Spencer Andrew, but I've not been able to find this confirmed anywhere else.
