In the 1871 England Census

Name: Robt Bresano
Age: 10
Est Birth year: 1861
Relation to Head: Son
Fathers name: Henry
Mothers name: Mary A
Where born: France
Civil Parish: St James Clerkenwell, London

Name: Henry
Age: 37
Est Birth year: 1834
Where born: France
Occupation: Flowermaker

Name: Mary A
Age: 32
Est Birth year: 1839
Where born: France

In the 1911 England Census

Name: Henry
Age: 71
Est Birth year: 1840
Where born: France
Civil Parish: Enfeild, Middlesex
Occupation: Artificial Florist

Name: Annette
Age: 70
Est birth year: 1841
Where born: France
Marital status: Married
How long married: On the index it says 10 years, but on the actual document it says 50 years which means they were married about 1860-1861

There is an entry in the London Electoral Registers 1913 for a Mareany Bresanon of Enfeild, London. I would assume that she is Mary A/Annette.

Henry died Oct-Dec 1911 and Annette died Apr-Jun 1913.

I think to clarify who Robert's mother was you may need to purchase his marriage printout from NZ BDM. The information collected at the time of his marriage to Margaret in 1893 should show his fathers name and his mothers name and maiden name. You have a better chance of finding his mother on that certificate rather than his death certificate (where the informant will be either his wife or son).

Thankyou so much...interesting information...will look at some more...I can see where you can get confused when information is not collated correctly and have to read between the lines a bit...thanks.
