1891 islington london census Cooper Family.
I dont know why,but I am pretty certain that the head of the family Andrew Bushnell put their names on the census as Cooper.A few years ago, when I was stuck on my tree research, because I had my family in 1881,but could find nothing on 1891,a lady in America, suggested that the Coopers of 1891 were really my Bushnells.because the chrisian names were the same and address the same.
When I looked up the children,s birth records I could only find births for Bushnells that matched their ages. My only possible explanation for Andrew Bushnell (1845) using the name Cooper was that his mother Bridget died giving birth ,and his father got a fellow worker at his market ,to look after the baby Andrew .I found a Cooper working at a market, and there is an Andrew Cooper aged 5 in 1851 census. Andrew&Francis both died in 1895 in Lunatic Asylums,so they were probably having mental issues in 1891.On the basis of this evidence,I treat the Coopers in 1891 census as Bushnells on my family tree
