Francis McCormick born around about 1810 is at present the first McCormick information who came from Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, Ireland and was a tenant farmer who farmed one and three quarter acres of land in the town land of Enagh, in the parish of Magheracloone .On this he paid yearly tax of 4 shillings and 8 pence. This tax was in addition to his rent and this money was payable for the upkeep of the established church (Church of Ireland/Anglican).

3) John McCormick born about 1825 in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, Ireland is at present the only family member known to Francis & Agnes.

John and Ann McGrane came from the south side of Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, Ireland. Prior to moving to Scotland John & Ann had a child-Judith McCormick, baptised on the 20th June 1839, born in the parish of Magheracloone but died a short time later.
They arrived in Scotland around 1851.
