I am trying to find the parents of James Archie Nicholson. My grandmother is Leona Adella Nicholson. She had a twin sister Leora Estella Nicholson. They were born in Erath County, Stephenville Texas in 1892. I find James in the 1900 Texas census, with a birth date of 1840, Rockingham, North Carolina and his parents were from Scotland. There is record of his marriage to Matilda Ann Wilkinson in Kemper County, Mississippi. There is record of his military service in the Confederate States Army with Company I Mississippi Calvary. He did receive a pension from this. I can find no trail to his parents in North Carolina or other family. The only little kernel I can find is in Louisiana, Caddo Parish, in the Angus Rose Nicholson Cemetery. There is a headstone for a little girl by the name of Leona Adella Nicholson, 1857-1858. That's a pretty big coincidence to have the same name as my grandmother.
