My grandmother was Lily Collier Scanlon, daughter of James Scanlon and Sophia Collier, Bohermore , Bagenalstown, Carlow.
(Bohermore was sometimes written as 'Bortmore' in old documents)

James b. 10.2.1849 (above) had the following siblings: Rebecca b. 1839, Ellen b. 1840, John b. 1841, William b. 1843, Mary Anne b. 1844, and Hannah b. 1846. All born in Carlow and baptised in Dunleckney parish Co. Carlow.

James' parents were James Scanlon b. 1810 and Jane O'Neil b. 1807, both born in Co. Carlow and they married in 1838. That's as
far back and I can go.

There is also a James Scanlon of Bohermore who was married to Ellen Scanlon. They had a child Thomas Henry, born Sept.18th 1855.
And there is a child Esther J. b. 1862, child of James Bohermore, but I don't know who the mother is so not sure if she is James & Jane's child or James & Ellen's child. Can anybody help me with this?
