William james snodgrass name was Snodgrass scotland and australia 1800's

Journal by Rockin_robyn

the SNODGRASS name is dated back to the late 1300's. The first spelling was SNODGERS (SNOGYRS) and evolved into snodgrass in the 1400's.

William james snodgrass senior married isabella newman BOUSFIELD and had 8 children. John robert, charles, emily, william james junior, eliza, isabella, james bucanan, neil.

I am robyn snodgrass, one of william jame junior's great grand-daughter's, and i'm trying to connect the dots back to the u k. Back as far as i can go.

I was informed once that william james senior was put in an asylum for some reason. Would like to know wether it was debtor prison or the nut house.

Asylums were also for the poor and destitute and cared for the elderly and infirm.
What state?

As for the asylum bit, i've got to prove it.

Also have to figure out why isabella voyaged back to australia? (Or to/from india as census says saint mango is docked at east india dock) with emily, charles, isabella, & james bucanan without william james senior in 1871. That years census shows them afloat.
