my ancesters on my father's side came from kingswood witlshier ,my cousin as gone back to the 16century to bout 1578 most of the rowles family came from kingswood, but about 1861 jonh rowles moved to yate in gloucestershier, he married a jane baker not long after being at yate ,they moved to monmouthshier and there they stayed until the early oart of the 20th century,but most of the rowles family stayed in south wales my my third great grand father Thomas rowles born 1767 was in the 29th of foot regiment, he was in the war of 1812,he was sent back over to this country in fact to derbyshier he met his wife her name was Rachell gedd she was born at snelsdon derbyshier. Rachell and Thomas married at st Oswald ashbourne derbyshier oct 1815. Rachell & Thomas rowles made there way down to kingswood, Thomas died about 1826, Rachell lived to the age of 91 years , died 1874, my father left wales to look for work ,he came to highley mine to work, some of his family came with his namely mother and father and siters.
