Thanks for the tip. The only other thing I know is that she was possibly from Ireland because her daughter Elizabeth was tried in Dublin and sent here in 1836.

Hi Helen, You're welcome. You could be right there re your ancestor being Irish. My convict CANTWELL ancestors were tried at Co. Kilkenny and 'transported' 1830s to Australia.

Make sure you sign up as a free member of rootschat.com, they have boards for Ireland and you can happily post messages there also.

There are tonnes of websites on convicts. Just do a search here on familytreecircles by typing in convicts in the top right-hand corner. I've provided as many links as I could think of.

Do you have her 'Ticket of Leave' or any data on your convict forbear? Let me know what you know, and we'll try and fill in some gaps. And what state in Australia were you DONAGHYs and CADDENs etc.?

At the bottom of every journal on familytreecircles, you have the option to record the surnames of who the journal is about at the bottom. That way people can click on your surnames to see other researchers, journals, links etc.

Thanks again. Yes I do have Eliza(beth)'s "Ticket of leave" and "Certificate of Freedom. Also those of her husband James Cadden. I have nothing on their parents, that is why I originally posted the question hoping someone might have a connection. I have just realized, looking at Eliza's certificate that she was born in 1807 not 1818 as I had originally quoted. I will have to check my record on my family tree and correct it. James and Eliza were married in Newtown N.S.W in 1839 and burried at Oxley Island N.S.W. I also have photos of their headstones. Thanks again,

Death Certificates will reveal their parents' names if known to the informant.

You can purchase bdm (birth, death and marriage) certificates online at NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages or a couple of dollars cheaper $5 I think from an online transcription agent like Joy Murrin. Just google and you will find her.

Q.Can you edit your profile on familytreecircles and add all your surnames you are researching in bulk registration format.

And I know it can be tedious, but if you transcribe your data in family groupings here on familytreecircles like myself and others have done, you may find more information.

Share your photos of your ancestors / headstones etc. They can easily be attached within journals.
