Elias Calladine 1825, Wirksworth Derbyshire
I managed to find the baptism records for Elias in the Independant church of Heage, 3 miles South down the hill from Norton Steer Farm which is about a mile and a half East of the village of Wirksworth. The main road today, which is cut into the valley did not exsit, and this road was the main route to Derby, because the nearest wide bridge across the River Derwent was at Heage.
ELIAS CALADINE Male
Birth: 18 MAY 1825

Re this Statement above: The LDS Church record Elias as being the son of Joseph Joseph Calladine and Ann Marie Duffield, however, I think that it may be Middleton?
Joseph CALLADINE married Anna/Hannah Maria MALINS in 1804 in Stratford on Avon. They had a son George before moving to Derbyshire. Anna was born in Whatcote WAR. I suspect Joseph previously came from Derbyshire and can only speculate on how they came to meet!
