Alfred Richard Goode son of Walter Goode Australia

Journal by Jewelly66

Hi

I am searching for lost relatives.

As much as i know follows

Walter Goode (Good on Richards b/certificate) had 3 children they were Alfred Richard(Dick)(1910)My Grandfather who was burried in Brisbane in the 60's, Arthur Clarence (AKA as John) and May.There was also a deceased female listed on Alfred's Birth certificate.

The boys were placed in an orphange but were later taken out by a Randall McCarthy. Presumably when the boys were small. May Married a Pershouse and Constance was one of her daughters.

I have now found a link to the Pershouse family and am endeavouring to contact them further.

Some where along the line McCarthy marries a Goode and my aunty has a half brother as a result.

As my GF left in 1940 (before my father was born) he also had another child in 1940 John Lawrence (Richards Death Certificate), 1942 Kenneth Richard and 1944 Robert David from his marriage to Pearl Taylor who he met at a boarding house in Brisbane Queensland.
Thanking you

Jewelly

Dear Jewelly66, Hi there. Welcome to FamilyTreeCircles. I've found the following info for you.

BURIAL DETAILS

Alfred Richard GOODE buried 23 Nov 1966 aged 54yrs
Pearl GOODE buried 15 Jul 1996 aged 76yrs

Pinnaroo Lawn Cemetery
Cnr Graham & Bridgeman Rds, Bridgeman Downs

Brisbane City Council - Grave Location Search

DEATH CERTIFICATES

Queensland Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages - Research family history

I've found that Death Certificates usually contain a wealth of information and if I were you I would go ahead and purchase one. I've generally done that for my main ancestral lines only.

Start with yourself and work backwards being careful to document all your information and sources.

HI Alison,

Thank you for that info.

I havent actually seen his grave site there for the simple reason i was not aware it was there at the time i visited Pinaroo in 2003. (i live in WA) My sister Kristine Ruth Goode (cot death 1963) is buried at Mt Gravatt Cemetary.

but also buried there (pinaroo) is my childrens fathers parents and my father has a plaque on the remembrance wall as he died as a result of things he was exposed to whilst in the Royal Australian Airforce,Bruce Harold Goode retired a warrant officer in the late 80's.

Last assignment was in Canberra in mid 80's.

Thank you very much. :) i was considering getting in touch with the registry office.
I may do it while i am in Brisbane in March 2007

Cheers
Jewelly

Dear Jewelly, Hi there. You're most welcome.

Pinnaroo seems to be a popular resting place for my family too. I have a brother buried there (Cancer 2001), along with my grandmother and others.

My grandfather is buried across the road in the Albany Creek War Service Memorial (Pine Rivers Shire - not Brisbane City Council). He was a Warrant Officer Class 2 in WWII, died 1980.

Post as many journals on here as you like, and I'll try to help you out.

Oh, and sign up as a free member of RootsChat.com - FREE genealogy research. Have your same username as on here in case someone is looking for you. There is an 'Emigrants to Australia' board which is particularly useful for bdm lookups and resources in each State of Australia. You may be very surprised. Lots of rootschatters have the indexes to all the bdms in each State on cd-rom. I'm on there occasionally as 'allycat'.

Alison.
