Dear browny06, Hi there. Welcome. I feel for you researching a surname like BROWN. You will no doubt probably have to purchase bdm certs for your ancestors to make double sure you are researching the right BROWN family.

You may not know that Joy Murrin Family History Services offers birth, death and marriage certificates in NSW cheaper than the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages NSW Australia. But you must first obtain the registration no before you proceed.

I've also found the local family history groups to be a godsend in my own genealogy.

Yes he is very hard to track down in the family group sheet, I was given, it says he was born 1841 near Sydney or Windsor but the DC on BMD says he died at 80yrs Braidwood, parents unknown that would make in being born in 1831 I have other info too that I would like to share

I am also searching for the Brown's in Braidwood, I have been chasing Robert George's birth certificate for years, I have several that are NOT him. When trying to calculate his birth year it is difficult as his age at time of of his last child's (Harriet Jane) birth makes him born in 1854. His age on his daughter Ellen's birth certificate makes him born in 1840. His age at time of death was listed as 80 makes him born in 1831. There is no age on the marriage certificate, but the ages above would make him 19, 33 or 42 when married. Robert George Brown signed with HIS MARK on the wedding certificate and so did his son (George BROWN) on Robert's death certificate, so I think the ages, were near guesses. I would love to know who the picture is of above. Cheers.
