I am searching for any information on Cherokee Chief Oowahooskee. He was my fifth greatgrandfather, and I am trying to complete my family tree for my mother before she passes away. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my fourth year to solve this mystery. Thanks very much !

ELIJAH6 GAY (NELSON5, HENRY4, JOHN3, HENRY2, JOHN1) was born 03 Mar 1857 in Turkey Branch, Perry Co., KY, and died 10 Jun 1928 in Adair County, Oklahoma. He married NANCY "NANNIE" BIRCHFIELD 20 Jul 1882, daughter of SARAH HANNA BIRCHFIELD.She was born 1861 in Berea, KY, USA, and died Nov 1921.
Notes for NANCY "NANNIE" BIRCHFIELD:
Sarah Sally Birchfield was born in 1827 in North Carolina and died by hanging for being Indian about 1871. I believe Sarah Sally was never married. She worked as a hired girl.
Sarah Sally Birchfield had 4 daughters:
Mary---No Dates
Caroline--No Dates
Delpha---No Dates
Nancy---Born in 1861 in VA.
When Nancy was about 10 years old, masked men arrived at their cabin and attacked them, strangling Nancy and leaving her for dead. When Nancy woke up her mother, Sarah Sally Birchfield was hanging from the rafters of the cabin.
Lillie Gay Miracle was born in 1905 and died 1999 she was 93 years old
Sarah Sally Birchfield's father was:
Nataniel Birchfield born about 1776 in North Carolina and married Anna McKinney born about 1785. Nathaniel died in Limestone Cove, Unicoi Co., Tennessee.
Nathaniel had 2 brothers:
John Noah Birchfield/Burchfield
Robert Birchfield/Burchfield----helped settle Cades Cove TN, 1st settlers there
Nathaniel, John Noah, and Robert's father is believed to be
Cherokee Indian Chief Oowahooskee he was a full blooded Indian Chief, he took a Cherokee Indian Reservation Grant, No.198, July 21, 1819, his name is on the 1817 Old Settlers Roll.
Supposedly Chief Oowahooskee was taken off the Reservation and sent by flat boats to Arkansas and then on to Oklahoma also possible he went to Old Mexico ( Texas )
