Looking for any PHILLIPS in Cornwall, England
I am looking for any relatives in Cornwall, England.
My great great grand father went to Canada in 1850 with his wife and 3 children. He died in 1852, and left Elizabeth Roberts Phillips (his wife) to raise 5 children. Peter, John, Mary, Susan and Josiah.
I know that Josiah married a woman named Agnes, and that Elizabeth lived with Josiah. John moved to New York and then to Michigan. He is my great great grandfather. Susan Married George Holmes and had 3 children. Mary eventually married a man by the name of James Honey, but I don't believe that there were any children in that union. I havent been able to find Peter, all that I know is that he died at a young age, but I am not sure if it was in England or Canada.
John Frederick married Elizabeth Roberts. John's father I believe was John Kendall, but have no proof of that.. Would love any information on the Cornwall England Phillips..

Dear Philipsseacher, Hi. I recommend casting your net wide to catch more fishies. I also recommend starting your genealogy with yourself and working backwards carefully so as to avoid going on wild goosechases (which happens).

Thanks Alison,
I do have my tree starting with me and going backwards.. The message that I posted is all confirmed except for John Kendall (I am only concerned with his middle name) I know that he married Elizabeth Roberts and that the children listed are thiers. But thank you for the other web sites to post on, hopefully I will get some more information.
Regards
Ronye

I am looking for my relations from Cornwall UK
My 5x great-grandfather was John Phillips, born c.1805. He was an agricultural labourer and his wife was Ann (nee Cox or Cock). They had six children: Jane, Ann, John, Richard, Mary and Emma. John died between 1837 and 1840. John's family then sailed to New Plymouth, NZ in late 1840, aboard the William Bryan and started a new life.
I am descended from John through his eldest daughter Jane.
There maybe a connection ... this branch was from the St.Kew parish in Cornwall, which was where the children were baptised. Nothing is known of John and his family, would love to be able to trace that side of the family tree :)
Good luck on your search.
For amber27, You could find out more by registering as a new user of the Rootschat site (free). Find their England, Cornwall childboards and post a lookup request.
Think about putting your tree online somewhere like: Geni, TribalPages, and GenesReunited.
Also the Cornwall Online Parish Clerks site is great.
