Futher information on the family is, as floolws please add any more that is found.
Carl Mark Bishop was shown as born on 22 March 1914 at Fifth Creek in
the Norwood District of South Australia. His Father was given as Eli
BISHOP and his Mother was given as Myrtle Agnes WELLS and the record
is in SAPRO Book 932 on Page 349 in the year 1914.
To obtain the birth certificate you would have to quote that Book
number and Page number for the year 1914. AND you would have to pay
quite a few dollars for it!
However, there was an explanatory note at the bottom of the entry -
"See also John Arthur MOORE". So I went to that entry and sure enough
it was identical with all the listed parts as above for birth date,
place, father and mother AND the same Book and Page numbers! Usually
there is more explanation for the Notes but not this time. I can only
guess that John Arthur MOORE might have been adopted by Eli and
Myrtle Bishop and the name was changed. That is only a guess as there
might be some other reason later in life of that young child for him
to get a name change. It is no wonder that you have problems finding him!!!!
I could not resist the temptation to look further into this family's children.
Eli Bishop and Myrtle Agness (different spelling) Wells were married
on 13 August 1907 at the residence of the Rev. W.A. Potts in
Adelaide. The Groom's father was given as Mark Bishop and the Bride's
father as Charles Wells. The marriage PRO reference is Book 232 Page
730. One puzzle was why they were married at the residence of the
minister and not at a church - interesting problem!
Their children were listed on my CD as follows:
Ethel Agnes Bishop b.3 May 1908 at Parkside
Alfred Henry Bishop b. 18 Jan 1910 at Parkside
Ronald Eli Bishop b.27 Feb 1912 at Parkside
Carl Mark Bishop b.22 Mar 1914 at Fifth Creek (see also MOORE, John Arthur)
John Arthur Moore b.22 Mar 1914 at Fifth Creek (see also BISHOP, Carl Mark)
Hepzebah Myrtle Bishop b.16 Apr 1917
this wonderful peson that found this decided to look futher for me to look for the marriage of Mark Bishop, the father of Eli
Bishop as above. That turned up an interesting collection of names!
Mark BISHOP married Hephzibah HAINES at the Wesleyan Chapel at
Kangarilla on 15 Nov 1871. The Groom's father was listed as James Carl Mark Bishop was shown as born on 22 March 1914 at Fifth Creek in

Mark BISHOP married Hephzibah HAINES at the Wesleyan Chapel at
Kangarilla on 15 Nov 1871. The Groom's father was listed as James
Bishop and the Bride's father as Thomas Haines.
Not surprisingly, the given name Hephzibah was subsequently spelt in
a variety of ways in the childrens' birth registrations later.
Epsebah, Hepsibah, Epsbeth, Hepzibh and so on.
I also found that Charles Calton (also as Carlton) WELLS married Eve
SELWAY at Norwood
