Lost Mark Lott of Cleburne County, Alabama
There are many John Lotts, Jesse Lotts, Arthur Lotts, and Mark Lotts that I am researching. (It is very confusing!)
John Barron has a great website on the Lotts. My problem is that my gggrandfather Mark Lott moved from Edgecombe, South Carolina, across Georgia and into Benton County,(now Cleburne County) Alabama. Several Lotts traveled with him--One being Jesse Lott. My Mark Lott married Parthernia Burgess and they had about 12 children (Don't have my notes with me) When Parthenia Burgess died,( I have her information too) Mark Lott married Elizabeth Clark. They had 5 children. My greatgrandfather was Henry Jackson Lott. He married Sarah Jane McCaghren in Alabama. Later they moved to Texas. Some of Henry Jackson's family moved to Texas also in Mid 1800s. Winnie, Mark Lott,Jr., Richard, William. They are all buried in Iredale, Texas except for Richard Lott who became "lost" too! I Know I am related to the Lotts who went to Mississippi. Why my Mark Lott moved to Alabama is unclear, and I have clues, but really no idea who Mark Lott's father or mother were. I have photos of My Mark Lott, Elizabeth Clark, his second wife, Mark Lott, Jr and his wife Caroline Bannon?? In this photo, Mark Lott, Jr. is holding the Lott family Bible. There are pictures of Mark's second family. Larry Lott and his family still live in the same area where Mark Lott and his two wives are buried.
Larry comes from Mark's second family. To me the Lott family were and are very interesting people.
I should know because I am one------Karen Lott
