KIRBY from Norfolk UK to Australia

Journal by pebbles1

Many years ago (probably the early 1960's) I remember visiting with my grandfather's cousin Cecil Ernest Kirby and his wife Grace Winifred (nee Harding)in Gregory Terrace, Brisbane. They had at least one child a John Kirby of whom nothing more is known.

Cecil was the son of Arthur Kirby & Ellen(nee Flint). Ellen was born in Norwich Norfolk 21 July 1873. Migrated to Australia possibly following two uncles - Edward Seaton Flint who lived variously in Sydney and Brisbane, and Lewis George Flint.

Cecil had an older brother living on the Isle of Man - Arthur Harold married to a Constance Saddleston. Two children Paula and John Richard.

As a very young teenager in elderly adult company, my only recollections were of a very prim and proper townhouse. There are so many Kirby's around in Australia, and the liklihood of just jagging a link are remote. It is not an area that at this stage I would consider researching deeply, but I may be able to exchange information with someone who can link some of the names mentioned.
