Kitching family New Zealand

Journal by Erinz

I am just starting out researching my fathers father. My dad was adopted by his stepdad and took his name on. He never had contact with his biological father after his parents divorced in 1942. So I have no knowledge of my grandfather or his family.
His name was Jack Edmond Kitching and he married my grandmother Thelma Reece in 1937. They had two sons together Neville and Darryl. Then divorced in 1942.
Jack Was born in Nelson New Zealand.

Hello Erinz,
If I have the right person, his name was actually John Esmond, aka 'Jack' Esmond Kitching. He was born 7 Aug 1919 in Nelson to Alec Esmond Kitching (1894-1948) & Ivy Myrtle Inwood (1896-1968). He had 4 brothers and a sister. His parents are buried in Karori cemetery, Wellington

Jack had at least 3 partners.
He died 25 Jan 1992 in Sydney, NSW

1917 - 2014 Thelma Ivy Kitching, his sister
Alec & Ivy Kitching, his parents
1931 - 2016 Trevor Desmond Kitching, his brother

* not in photo is his brother:
