Langs who lived in Virginia- Pulaski, Montgomery, Floyd, Giles, Albemarle Co. ,Nokesville, Prince william co.,areas.
My name is Mary Evelyn Lang Keyser. I was born Nov.11,1949. my Dad is Silas Vernon Lang, born 1923. He lived in Parrott Mountain, Pulaski, Virginia with his father Floyd Harrison Lang, born 1899. Floyds wife was Minnie Elizabeth Cronk. His father was Isaac John Thomas Lang born July 3, 1877. I think he was born in Floyd. I know Floyd, Va. is mentioned quit a bit. Isaac lived and worked in Ivy Depot. He worked at the railroad station. His wifes name was Ella Lang, not sure of her maiden name. He died in April, 1962 and was buried in Nokesville, Virginia cemetery. My mother, Evelyn Elizabeth Theimer Lang, lived in Nokesville, too.
The rest of the family members I have gathered is from chance. Isaac Johns father, I think is Floyd Lang. Possibly Floyd James or James Floyd Lang. He was born around 1856 lived in Pearsiburg, Giles, Va. with his wife Mary. I think it may have been Mary Carter, but one cencus says a Berthany Hinkle lived with them and she was the mother in law. So I am not sure if Mary is a Hinkle(Hinkley) or Carter, unless she was married before. The neighbors around Floyd matches some of the names I have come across as family by marriages, like Lucas & Huffman. Now I think Floyds father was Isaiah(Isaih) born about 1833 who was married to Lucinda Lucas. They lived in Giles, Virginia, also. I know for sure that Isaiah's father was James Lang married to a Susannah Chapman because their names are on the marriage certificate of Isaiah and Lucinda Lang. Now if I am correct in my findings. I cant seem to find out any more about James and Susan Lang, They also lived in Giles, Va. I don't know anything more. I cant find a father or mother for him. I do know her father and mothers name, it was Henry & Mary Chapman.
I took a DNA test to try and help. It says I am 84% Great Britain, 5% Scandinavian, 4% Europe West. The rest of the DNA spreads over N.E Europe, Italy/Greece, Iberian Pennisula, Finand/N.W. Russia, and Ireland. These are only 1%-4%.
I am hoping I can find relatives that may have information on some of these Langs to help me understand who they were, even a picture that was passed down. My dad never really spoke of his family. He only had one brother, James Floyd Lang born 1920, who had a son named James Floyd Lang Jr. who still lives in Parrott, Pulaski, Va. and is 70 yrs old. I just visited James in Sept. 2015 with his two sisters, Lola, and Patsy to see if they could give me any information. They knew no more than I did. Their father hadn't given them any information either. James also has a son names James Floyd Lang III, who lives in Pulaski, too.
Can anyone out there help me solve the Lang Family secrets. I would live to hear from you.
Through the DNA test I have found some connecting cousins, Curtis Lang, Sheri Ball both 2nd cousins, then there are quit a few 4th-8th cousins, some of the last names connecting us are Chapman, King, Cox, Collins, Rose, & Mills, of course Cronk (my grandmother) and Theimer ( my mom) which would be the Mills connection.
Thanks to anyone who might know information, If I can help in anyway I will try. I am not very good at this I did learn through a cousin that I am related to the 1st 5 generations of Langs to America, 1st being Robert Lang. I do have the entire list of them if anyone would like to see it. I am on ancestry.com under Lang family by bootiekeys. again, thanks.

Thanks detective. I do have these facts on my dad. I know my grandfather Floyd Harrison Lang only had two boys, my dad Silas and his brother James Floyd Lang, now 70 years old living in Parrott, Virginia still. My dad passed 1997. I also know my great grandfather was Isaac John Lang (some have Isaac John Thomas Lang, most data I find is under Isaac John Lang born July 3, 1877. this is from social security, W.W.I, and W.W.II registration. His wife was Lena Hinkle(Hinkley). I think my 2nd great grandfather was Floyd Lang, also born around 1856, his name could be James Floyd Lang or Floyd James Lang. I think he was married to a Mary (possible)Carter or Hinkle. Any information I came across was Floyd Lang 1860-1864.One in 1860 said his father was Isaiah Lang born abt. 1834 and mother Lucinda Lang born abt. 1832( maiden name I think is Lucas. That was at sinking creek, Giles, Virginia. Isaac and Lucinda were married in Giles, Va, July 13, 1854, Isaih(Isaacs) father was listed as James Lang and mother suzana. I think Susannah's last name is Chapman. I cant find anything from that point.I am not even sure I am correct.
Photo above is Lola Lang Martin, Joan Elizabeth Lang Lambert( my sister), James Floyd Lang (70), Me(Mary Lang Keyser) and Patsy Lang Linkous. Lola, Patsy and James are my uncle James Floyd Lang's kids. James Jr. lives in Parrot still. Lola and Patsy live in same home in Radford. New to them, they were living in Fredericksburg, Va., in process of moving in. Visited them in Sept. 2015, to find they knew no more about our family then We did.
