Liscum family, Upper Canada

I am continuing my research on the maternal side of the Spinks family. The name is Eliza Jane Liscum, born 2 Mar 1871 in Roseneath, Alnwick Twp., Northumberland, Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of George Liscum and Jemima Rosetta Jackson.. George was born 4 April 1834 presumably in Upper Canada. He married Jemima 1 Dec 1856 and Died 4 Dec 1874 in Roseneath, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada. After George's untimely death, Jemima remarried Peter Smith on 6 Feb 1878 in Hastings, Ontario, Canada in the Alderville Methodist Church.
Between George and Jemima, 5 children were born. The last, Ekiza Jane Liscum is my great grandmother. In all my research thus far, I draw a blank as to the parentage of both George Liscum and Jemima Rosetta Jackson. I have come across several Liscum's in the census records, but no way to connrect parentage. I think, but cannot prove that George's brother may have been Bailey and Maitland Liscum, but it is only a supposition. I have nothing concrete. I am anxious to crack this line and would be happy to share any of the information I have that might be helpful to anyone. It just seems to me that with birth and marriage registrations there should be parents listed someplace, but I am coming up blank. Any help would be appreciated.

According to the Census George and all the children were born in Germany wife Jemima was born in England.
Jeemima would have been 16 when the first child was born.

On this census it states all born Upper Canada.

falgousts on 2012-11-01 16:48:46Yes this is the family, the one you see in the census of 1871. I had no confirmed birthplace for the first three children, Tiberas (Thomas); Sara Matilda; and Frederick. As for William and Eliza Jane (Eliza, my grt grandmother), they were born in Roseneath according to our family information. Eliza Jane is listed as Elizabeth in more than one record including nicknames of Lilly and Lizzy. I am sticking with Eliza Jane rather than Elizabeth because that is how she is listed in the Liscum family bible. If Geroge came from Germany there should be some immigration records. Perhaps he and his brothers all immigrated the same time. Since he married Jemima in Canada, I have to assume that all the children were born in Canada. Perhaps there are church records that would show more information. Thanks for the input.
