Looking for AYLMER EDWIN CAMPBELL
I have an Aylmer Edwin Campbell in my ancestory. This is a very elusive man. I am just one of many ancestors who is looking for him. From all records it appears that he was born on 17 May 1815. I cannot find him arriving
or being born in Australia. He was a ship's captain. In 1846 he
plied the 46 ton "Experiment" between Brisbane and Ipswich along the
Brisbane River." On 4 Mar 1839 he married Catherine Alexander in
Sydney and had 9 children. The first being born in 1836. Children
were John Thomas, Aylmer Edwin, Annie, Catherine Charlotte,
Neterville Barton, Edwin Septimus, Alexander Jessie, Emma Jessie and
a child dying very young.
According to The Moreton Bay Courier he died on 10 Jan 1854.
Apparently at the Brisbane Hoispital. His death was never registered
unfortunately.
I have no record of him sailing anything else.
I presume he or his parents came from Scotland or perhaps Ireland.
I have not found him arriving on John Dunmore Lang or the Bounty
System.
