My Grandfather, William Bottomley was born in Paddock Huddersfield in 1869 the son of James Bottomley, born 1845 and Lavinia n?e Berry born 1848. Grandson of William Bottomley, bor. 1823 and Jane, no maiden name, born in Lingards 1821. great Grandson of John Bottomley born 1795 and Jane, no maiden name, bor. 1797. William married Mary Jane Alderson, no wedding date, he died in hospital in Ashton under Lyne app 1953. William and Mary Jane had two children, Fred, my father, born in 1907 plus a daughter Elsie. dad was born in Dukinfield, presume Elsie was too. I do know she was living in Ashton 1955 when our family moved to New Zealand.
