Looking for Charles NORRIS
Can anyone help with information re - Charles Norris born Ipswich Qld ca 1871. He and his mother Annie Norris moved to the St Leonards area of Sydney 1870s where Charles met Kate Elizabeth Bennit/Bennett, daughter of Smith and Catherine Bennit nee McFarland. Charles and Kate married 1884. Charles was a bricklayer by trade and employed by the Gov Railways mid/late 1890s to build train tunnels in Western Autralia. Kate's love of attending Dance Halls in Perth saw the marriage flounder. Kate remained in remained in WA while Charles returned to Sydney. He divorced Kate in 1903 and had custody of their only surviving child who passed away that same year in Perth. Kate d. 1905 in Perth, Charles d.1938 Manly NSW and was buried same plot as Mary Bennett (wife of Stephen Bennit/Bennett, sister-in-law of Kate Norris nee Bennit)

Charles NORRIS was born in Queensland in 1860 (Birth Registration No. 1860/C523). Fathers given names (left blank). Mothers names: Ann Norris.

Thank you so much for Charles Norris birth details. In the divorce transcript Charles talks about arriving in Sydney with his mother on a particular news years day, never mention of a father then or since. In his Army records his age varies by several years.
