James CHILVERS was born about 1809 in Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk. He was the son of Simon CHILVERS and Frances MILES who were married on September 16th. 1786 in Burnham Deepdale. About 1834 he was working as a gardener. On 2 April 1835 he was convicted of the life crime of housebreaking at his neighbours house. August 1 st. 1835 he was sentanced to deportation on the ship "Moffet" which sailed on May 5th. 1836. He arrived in Austrailia on August 31st. 1836 and was assigned to Hyde Park Barracks in Sidney.
