Looking for connections of the MENNER family, South Australia.

Query by joann731

I am trying to find out the story of my Great Grandfather, Friederich George MENNER b.1857 in Tanunda, South Australia.
His parents were Carl Wilhelm b.1823 d.1888 and Anna Agnes Amalie BECKMAN b.1829 d.1922. They had 5 other sons & 5 daughters.
He married Minnie NENKE in 1880 at Kapunda, S.A. and they lived at Tanunda & Davenport, S.A. he was a Baker by trade.
He & Minnie apparently had 6 children, Minnie dying 2 weeks after the birth of the last, (who only lived for 7 months) There were, it would seem, only 2 children that survived,- my Grandfather, Roland Julius MENNER, and (?)George Robert MENNER.
Roland b.1887 went at 3yrs of age (at the death of Minnie) to his maiden Aunt Katie NENKE & Uncle, Patrick Julius NENKE and was raised by them in Greenock, S.A.
It would seem that his older and only surviving sibling, George Robert, born 2 years earlier in 1885, must have gone -following Minnie's death, to the MENNER relatives ?? I do not have any information about the separation of the boys, it seems their family just fell apart at that point - I guess not that unusual back then.
Apparently George died in 1907 at age 21, in Kapunda, but his father is not the informant for his death entry.
So, my questions are about Friederich George (only 'George' on his marriage papers).....what happened to him after his wife died? Hoping some info is out there somewhere.
