Hi In the course of researching my Irish ancestors the name of Charles Phelps Huntington Ripley has come up . Charles an American is recorded as the husband of Elizabeth Connelly aka Bridget E Connelly and father of Maurice Ripley born Southwark UK in 1888 and died 1891. It is a bit confusing as not only did Bridget change the name she was known by she also changed her place of birth from Ireland in 1849 to Chislehurst - she was also creative with her age too. UK census has them as a married couple in 1885 but from what I have since discovered Charles was already married to a Harriet J Ingersoll who didn't die until 1898. My interest, apart from just plain curiosity, is if they did eventually marry their marriage certificate would, hopefully provide details of Bridget's father and clarify whether the link to my own family the Lyons and O'Callaghan's was maternal or paternal.
