Looking for Donnelly's from Armagh Ireland relate to William Donnelly who married Mary Burns

My name is Rhonda Donnelly, my father's name Kaven Donnelly born July 10, 1942 in MiddleSex, Ontario to James Donnelly and Jophrine Jones who were married in Lucan, Ontario. I have my grandfathers birth certificate but can hardly make out what the name of the town was he was born in , in Ireland. He was Born in Armagh on May 3rd 1903 to Mary (Burns) and my Great grandfather William Donnelly...I will follow up with more details as I have just found this site minutes ago..am looking forward to exploring both my mothers Chisholm side as well as my fathers Donnelly side and omg of course e the Burns's and the Jones and so on it on it could go . This may be interesting and fun ..ttys :)

dmck on 2012-11-05 19:27:59There have been quite a few books written about "The Black Donnellys", a Donnelly family who lived near Lucan, Ontario. There were conflicts in the community and they were blamed for a number of the problems. Five members of the family were murdered by vigilantes on the night of Feb. 4 1880, and despite some eye-witness testimony, I don't think anyone was ever convicted. If you are related to those Donnellys, you may have already seen this, but if not, you will likely find information you can use.
