In one handwritten note at the Lewis County Historical Society in Canton Missouri,Was a record confirming family lore about Dr.Charles Henry Rossiter being shot to death in Canton MO Nov. 29 1862. I have not been able in 2 years to find a newspaper article or obit. The person listed as the shooter was his wife's brother John Nelson. I have found no record of arrest court proceedings or sentencing. I would greatly appreciate any info.
