Looking for Elizabeth Harding of Ohio married and went to Mich.

Query by sheresewilliams

Have an ancestor Elizabeth E. Harding, who was supposedly born in Ohio on Apr. 2, 1818 somewhere around Maumee. She dies in Niles, Michigan (Berrien Co.) Nov. 24, 1892. She married a George W. Williams around 1838. I have them in Michigan in 1840 in Milton Twp, Cass Co. George is from Delaware, born Sep. 17, 1818, dies in Niles, Michigan,Dec. 8, 1904. His fathers name is also George Williams. They had several children. Fannie b. 1840, Burton, born abt. 1842, George b. 1843, Jesse born abt. 1845/6, Lois born abt 1847, twins: William and Horace born about 1849, Horace dies in early childhood, Mary born abt. 1853, Elizabeth or Libbie about 1856, Ida Mae abt. 1858 and my relative the baby of the brood, John Farrow Williams born Mar. 12, 1861. All in Michigan, before Michigan began to officially keep records. Can't track the Harding side.

Problem: Can't find a E. Harding born in 1818 in Ohio and have no relative names with which to track her. Nor can I find a marriage record for Ohio or Michigan.

I only found one harding that remotely resembles maumee co ohio. I found two Elizabeth hardings, only in virginia and both old enough to own property. Remember this is the 1820 census, and every person in the home was not recorded, only the head and children under and between certain ages.

William Harding Dayton,Miami,OH 1820

I did look at the original however, was unable to scan or copy it for you. Here is basicaly what it was.

Free white males under the age of 10year 3
under the age of 16 and over the age of 10 1

under the age of 26 and over the
age of 16 1
under the age of 45 and over the age of 26 1

free white females under the age of 10 1
under the age of 16 and over the age of 10 1

Is it possible that this could be her family? I don't know. I am just passing this along.
