My greatgrandfather and family immigrated in 1910 from Arad county, Romania. The name was changed several times, but originally I believe it was Jitaru. Here is was spelled: Zsitar, Ziter, Zitar. I have been told they were pure Romanians with a known history dating badk into the 1500's. Other family surnames include: Tol, Buda, Pasquale, Handra. I am interested in hearing from anyone who might know anything about these names. They came from the towns of Pancota and Maderat. Thanks so much.
