Looking for Gabiel MOFFETT born in VA and died in GA
I recently located a cousin that I have never met in person. She has shared some data with me with which I would like to get help. The person I am looking for is my great, great, great, great grandfather, Gabriel MOFFETT (1751-1819). I have seen variations of spelling such as MUFFETT,MUTFITT). It is my understanding that his father was also named Gabriel (1709-1758) and was born in London, England. His father was the first in the MOFFETT family that immigrated to America.
The son, Gabriele MOFFETT had children by his wife, Elizabeth Francis. I do not how many or do I know their names except for the son who was named John MOFFETT (1772-1871). He was said to have been born in Charlotte County, VA and to have died in Jasper County, Mississippi. John MOFFETT was my great, great, great grandfather
Gabriel MOFFETT (1751-1819) was thought to have been a Revolutionary Soldier. His father was said to have been killed by an Indian in the French & Indian War.
I'd love to know more!

Thanks for sharing your info. I have information that says Gabriel MUFFETT (1709-1758) owned plantation on Cedar Run and surrounding area which encompassed 201 acres. It says he left 8 children when he died. I want to find out who his eight children were. I wonder if he had already married when he came to America. The information that I received from Star Genealogical Service, P.O.B 510906, Salt Lake City, UT 84151 does not show where Mary HELMS was born.
