Looking for George Charles Davis b 1870 Essex England maybe, was in New Zealand from 1903 to about 1923 give or take 10 years He was a carpenter and worked for the NZ rail bridge building around Feilding; I am a 4th generation New Zealander now living in Australia, Tweed Heads, for the last 30+ years

married Emma Sewell: Emma died 1898. he remarried Emma Baker ( he must have liked "EMMA" the records die there in 1900 . But in NZ we have a George Charles Davis in a relationship (never married, I wonder why) with My Grand mother in 1904. & 10 children were born till 1920 when he could not find work and the family was in deep debt: the family split up and the story that has been repeated by My Dad and my Uncles was that "George" went to Sydney to get his eye fixed ( not sure which eye)never to return.My dad and his sister search for him , even going to Sydney but never found him.
