Query by swmbo

I am looking for any details of George Stevens born in Victoria around 1890 who married Edna Allen and had approx 7 children, Alan, Ray, Edward (Teddie), Bill, Gwen, Ralph, Egryn. I can't seem to find any ancestory on this family and would appreciate any leads. Kaye

Is this the George and Edna Stevens from Swan St., Richmond, Vic

by janilye on 2012-11-07 10:04:36

No it's not! Just answered my own Question. With so many George Stevens in Vic it's easy to mix them up.
For those who want to have a look for swmbo, these two in 1931 were living at Anderson St., North Campbellfield Victoria. he was a labourer. This is the Broadmeadows area.
Son Ralph was a farmer at Campbellfield in 1949 'Sylvania Park'
Her full name was Edna Leah ALLEN and she and George were married in 1916.

Hi Kaye, Maybe I'm wrong, I've found 4 George and Edna's including a dairy farmer at Katunga but nothing for Belgrave. 2.30am! I'll have a look tomorrow.
Got any more info?

No I'm right, from Campbellfield they moved to Green Gully, Newstead in 1954 where George had a poultry farm then in 1963 he was retired and they were living at The Crescent Belgrave Heights.

Hi Janilye
Thank you so much for your response and yes this is my family. I have been in touch with a cousin's wife who has done a lot on the family history, more bdm than anything else, I don't have any info on their lives from her. We have been able to go back to the early to mid 1700's in Cornwall and the online parish clerks there are very helpful and I am piecing together a little of their lives. I have only contacted the Paul Parish and now will follow on with other Parish such as St Just as I become aware of more ancestry. If you or anyone is interested in the line please let me know and I can send what info I have. Kind regards. Kaye
