Looking for Gilglogly of PA and OH
Dear Fellow Genealogists,
I am researching my Gilglogly family line.
I know that Alva Gilglogly was born on 19 Feb 1827, in Greene county, Pennyslvania. He married Catherine Stouteagle on 14 August 1853, in Ohio. They had two children that I am aware of.
Their first child was Cornelius Gilglogly. He was born about 1854, in Ohio or Pennyslvania.
Their second child was Rachel mariah Gilglogly. She was born 15 April 1858, in Pulaskiville, Morrow County, Ohio. I have found some research on her side of the family, and know that she married Joseph Elmore Thompson.
I am descended from Cornelius and his wife, Kathryn McDole/McDale. She was born about 1857, and I know nothing of her line. They were married 26 September 1873, in Morrow County, Ohio.
Cornelius and Kathryn had two children, that I know of. Their daughter, Luella Ann Gilglogly, was my great grandmother. I have photos of her. She was born 28 July 1881, in Lewiston, Ohio. She married Atley Jay Curtis. She died 10 Oct 1960in Howell, Livingston County, Michigan. She is buried in Charlotte, Eaton County, Michigan, and I have visited her grave many times.
Cornelius and Kathryn's other child was a son - Edgar Van Gilglogly. I know he was born 3 June 1884, in Morrow County, Ohio. I have found some research done on him and his wife, Eva Martina Walterhouse, which I was glad to find. My mother remembers this "Uncle Van" visiting her grandmother.
I would dearly love to find out more about these Gilgloglys. I have researched census records and find tantalizing bits of information. I would enjoy hearing from any "cousins" out there on this, or related lines. Contact me at Kevindelabruere@hotmail.com and I will write you back. Thanks a bunch!

Hello,
I have been researching the Gillogly/Gallogly name for some time and ran across this spelling. Our branch of Gillogly/Gallogly also was in Greene Co. PA in the 1820's which leads me to believe Alva was possibly related to our group but spelled their name differently. I also just found an obituary for Tollie Thompson, the son of Rachel if you are interested in it. Let me know if you wish further information on the Gillogly branch.
