My family is from paisley and we are related to an Adam Harkness born 1929 died 2003. His father was Duncan Harness .mother Margaret Rae ( also previously Stewart) born 1884 died 1964. Margaret married Duncan Harkness around 1920.
Adam had sisters and step sisters one of whom was my grandmother.
Don't know if there is a family connection but may help you in your search.
Ps our Adam remained a bachelor and, as far as we know had no children
