Hi, I see this post is dated 2012. I am a decendent of Henry, specifically Henry junior - he married Annie (nee Johns) in 1894. His son (adopted - birth mother Minnie HENDERSON) was Vivian Ambrose Phillips born 1896 in Rata - married Veronica Katherine O'REILLY 1923 - these are my grandparents.
Our PHILLIPS are difficult to research for sure.
I have found Catherine Wilkins PHILLIPS (married Thomas LADD). Her family has researched and put information in Ancestry which is helpful. But not much more that I know already.
From the 1880, 1885, 1890 electoral rolls I have found, Henry Phillips the immigrant was listed as a carter. His name is misspelt Henry PHILIPS on son Henry's 1864 birth certificate - he is listed as a laborer, Christina McPHIE has signed her name with an X which explains the misspelling. On Henry Jnr 1928 death certificate his father is listed as Labourer.
Contact would be appreciated.
