Hi I am trying to source the origin of the HIPPOLITE/HIPPOLYTE family. We have been told that our family has some connection to Mauritian and French descent.My grandfather was Louis Hippolite from South Africa.

Hello...my name is Kahurangi Hippolite. I am also trying to find our "Hippolite" ancestor but we have found nothing substantial to verify our ancestors origins other than what we maori people call a name on a geneology (whakapapa). The name we have is James Hippolite and we were also told he had French origins.
