I am trying to find out ANY information about my grandfather's family. All I have is that he (Petrus Gerhardus Niemand, fondly known as oom Piet) was born somewhere in the Hemel-en-Aarde/Caledon/Hermanus district in the Western Cape, South Africa on November 18, 1905. He died June 18, 1989. His mother was Sannie/Susanna/Susan, father unknown. My grandfather was a well-known character in Hermanus. In the time I can remember, he was a transporter, butcher and small scale farmer. He grew vegetables and flowers at his house which he sold to who ever wanted it. My grandmother was tannie Tietie(Elizabeth Jurina Catharina Geldenhuys)born March 24, 1909, died March 22, 1985.
